The Zero Waste Business Challenge is a program designed to support businesses moving closer to carbon neutrality. By educating and motivating employees we help companies to reach their best zero waste potential.
WHY: We make a company’s circular ambitions concrete by measuring sustainability goals in numbers.
WHAT: Wegozero enables businesses to integrate principles of the circular economy into their strategy by embedding zero waste practices
HOW: With a 7-week zero waste business challenge that motivates employees to put their company’s sustainability goals into practice.
In a first step, we ask companies to take a survey and schedule a Zero waste audit with us. After evaluating the company’s status quo we kick off with a zero waste 101 workshop followed by putting sustainability into practice and implementing zero waste practices into a companies strategy.
Our impact
We measure our projects impact by using the OKR method. In short: we set goals in numbers.
If for example 3 employees set a goal to reduce their car
usage to 30 km instead of 90 km a week since they decided to carpool,
they will achieve a reduction of 0.015 tons of Co2 weekly. If this
sparks a motivation for three other teams to do the same, they could
achieve a Co2 reduction of 2.34 tons a year. Same applies for the
intention setting to reduce for example 30 flying hours a year to 10
hours, eating 2 vegetarian meals a week or making 50 friends to know
about a person moving towards zero waste.
Through a gamified, easy and fun approach the zero waste
business challenge has the potential to motivate and change employees’
habits without judging or questioning former practices.
Starting button up we make sure to understand challenges and opportunities from the employees’ point of view and all stakeholders to help the management team incorporate zero waste to their strategy.
As a result, corporate policies change.
