How to live zero waste

In the past years, zero waste has become a buzzword. Especially the younger generations are curious how to live zero waste. More and more people are interested in reducing their waste footprint, and this is becoming more important than ever. The world population is growing, and with it the amount of waste produced is increasing.

How to live zero waste

This is not only a problem because we are filling up our landfills, but also because the production and transportation of goods around the world uses a lot of energy and resources. This could lead to an increase in global warming, which would have devastating effects on our planet.

So what can you do about it?

The first thing you can do is to reduce your waste as much as possible. Try to use less packaging for your food, shop second hand or even try to make something yourself instead of buying it. It doesn’t matter if you don’t manage to be zero waste 100% of the time, every little bit counts!

Once you have reduced your footprint as much as possible, there are still some things that can’t be avoided when throwing away your trash. For example plastic packaging that can’t be recycled or composted won’t disappear just because you don’t use them anymore. To deal with this problem you need to find a way to recycle or reuse these things so they don’t end up in landfills or oceans where they will stay forever!

There are many different ways to reuse plastic packaging that would otherwise end up in landfills. You could make a pencil holder out of an old yogurt container for example! If you want some inspiration for other ways to reuse plastic packaging check this out.

If all else fails, composting is always an option! You could take your food scraps and put them into a compost bin outside so nature can turn them into useful soil for plants around the world!
